The main locking mechanism fits in a transverse channel, which is MIG welded to the uprights for strength. The lock cylinder is field-replaceable and facilitates in lock installation where a number of files must be keyed differently but keyed alike in areas. The cylinders can be shipped separately in numbered containers and snapped into place after the files are in place, thereby reducing installation time. The vertical lock bars are counter-opposed to ensure the most secure locking short of purchasing one our security files. One bar moves upward, the other downward, resulting in a fitting that requires the virtual destruction of a door or drawer in oder to open without a key. By removing the lock hooks on a particular drawer, the entire cabinet can be locked except for that drawer to allow access to service personnel. Truly the finest locking system on the market. |
